“Leaving Austin” Texas, 2022
Today we started our vacation trip to Indianapolis, Indiana. We are flying there to watch our son, Koa, compete with The Blue Devils in the DCI 2022 Championships! It’s also my first time to Indiana, so I’m extra-excited.

We arrived at about 5 pm and headed to our hotel, then to a nearby restaurant named Nada. The food was delicious! We had ceviche, tacos, salmon, croquettes, and papas fritas. And of course, we had a few beers to wash it all down. A great first meal in Indy.

After dinner, we walked over to Lucas Oil Stadium where the drum corps will compete. Tonight was the prelims, and we didn’t get tickets for it (we have tickets for the semi-finals and finals later) but we wanted to go meet up with Koa during their practice in the lot. I also had to give Koa my GoPro just in case they win the championship and have a victory encore performance. Fingers crossed!
We haven’t seen Koa in a few weeks so it was nice to say hi and wish him luck in the competition. Go Blue Devils!

After saying goodbye, we went back to our hotel and watched the prelims on the laptop at our room. And good news, they won prelims, so their undefeated season continues. Let hope their run continues tomorrow at semi-finals!
“Indiana Statehouse” Indianapolis, 2022
Never been to Indianapolis, but it looks to be a lot more to it than meets the “I” (in Indy, haha!). Makes me interested in going someday. Hope you enjoyed your time there!
Thanks Rebecca! Yes, Indy is a fun city! Downtown isn’t too big, but there are some cool things to see and restaurants to try.
