Bay headed back to school today, making Mariko and me empty-nesters for the next few months! With Koa in California until April, it’s just the two of us for about three months. Missing both of the kids already!
Before heading back to school for the semester, my son requested one more meal: spaghetti and meatballs. It’s been a family favorite for two generations, and I love making it for everyone. I’m glad it’s still a hit!
I accidentally used the wrong blade in our chopper and ended up making pepper powder instead of flakes. It felt like I recreated something close to pepper spray – when I opened the mixer, I inhaled a bit of the powder and started coughing uncontrollably. I had to turn on the exhaust fan and open some windows just to breathe. It was intense!
Once the air was clear, I carefully transferred the powder into a shaker bottle. Surprisingly, it turned out great! I just have to remember to shake it gently from now on!
With a cold front rolling in this evening, I decided to squeeze in one last warm ride. Kiki and I took the scenic route to Sa-Tén for some quality coffee (try the “Ohayo”!) and Kindle time. It was both relaxing and rejuvenating. I don’t venture out much, but I enjoyed it so much that I’m thinking I should make it a habit.
