Hello!

Today’s photo is of the two little monsters caught doing what they do, which is being naughty. 😄 We keep our guest slippers in a basket by the front door, and today they decided that the slippers would be fun to play with. It’s so funny that they love to play with footwear! We have a little basket that we put the kids’ clean sock into after the laundry is done, and the kitties have been grabbing a sock here and there, and bringing them downstairs to play with. At the moment, there are about 10 socks on the floor now! Thankfully, they don’t damage them. All-in-all, the kittens are not too bad, but sometimes it can be frustrating… for instance, they accidentally turned on the kitchen faucet, and when I came home from work, the water was running full-blast. 😞 Oh well…

Take care! 🐱

こんばんは!Good evening!

Today I worked from home in the afternoon, and at lunchtime I was at the pool. But as you can see, the work never ends! Thankfully, the things that came up during that time did not require a lot of color-correction. 😄 That would have been difficult because of the bright sunlight and the glare it causes. 😎

Our neighborhood pool is nice, not too big, but not too small either, and there are lifeguards supervising all the action. During the week, it seems that there aren’t a lot of people there, although I did run into my neighbor and we chatted for a bit. Tomorrow (Saturday) it should be pretty crowded though, as parents are enjoying the weekend with their kids. I think I will skip the pool!

We’ve been having some bad news lately, haven’t we? The tragedy in Nice, France is shocking… two of the people who were killed are from the Austin area. As I was reading the news this morning, I felt so sad. I can’t even imagine… 😧 Life is so fragile.

Well, I hope better news comes our way.

Take care!

“Bean-bag Toss” Austin, 2016

こんばんは!Happy Thursday to you!

Today’s photo is of a coworker playing bean-bag toss, otherwise known as “cornhole”, at the courtyard of our office. We had a BBQ for our interns after work and I was asked to take photos of the event. I really like our new office space!

The courtyard is so great. What’s nice is that, besides the barbecue grill, we are able to access the WiFi network from there so anytime you want to sit outside and work, you can. I sometimes go out there because I get really cold at my desk and need to warm up in the Texas outdoors.

Unfortunately, it’s starting to get really hot in Austin now – it got up to 97° F, with a heat index of 109° F! ☀️ And it is only mid-July… it usually gets super-hot in August/September. I really love hot weather, but this is getting ridiculous. 😓

Please try to stay cool, wherever you are!

Breaking the Fast

こんばんは!Hi, how’s it going?

Today’s photo is of a man waiting outside the martial arts studio. I assume he is waiting for his child to finish his class. I was in the area after finishing dinner, and was strolling around to get to the Pokestops that were nearby. Are you all playing Pokemon GO as well? I am playing it once in a while, but it is hard because the game runs so poorly on my phone. It’s frustrating and I give up many times because it just lags and then freezes. 😩

For the past few days, I’ve been fasting… meaning I have only had water, tea, and black coffee. It’s called a water fast and there are a lot of benefits to doing it. I wanted to go a bit longer than 3 days, but I think it’s good to just do a short fast before taking on longer ones. I’ve done 24-hour, and 36-hour fasts before, but the 72-hour was my longest to date! I felt fantastic after the first day and the fasts always reset my outlook on life (and food) for the better. It also gives the body a chance to heal itself, and the results for me are nicer skin, and my sore neck feels a lot better. I recommend you all do some research into water fasting… it’s a life-changer!

My first meal back from the fast was a nice bowl of Vietnamese Pho. The broth was so delicious and the veggies and noodles were excellent as well. After fasting, your sense of taste and smell are heightened so the meal was amazing. In all honesty, it probably wasn’t the best pho in the area, but today it sure tasted like it!

I hope you had a nice Wednesday.
