I spent some time on my motorcycle practicing u-turns this afternoon, and I made good progress. U-turns are a source of anxiety for many riders, myself included, so it’s good to build confidence, and practice is the only way to get better.
Not only did I improve a lot today, but I realized that successfully executing a smooth, tight u-turn can be really satisfying and fun!
By the way, if you want to see motorbiking blog posts, I have another blog dedicated to it: Motofuji.net. Hope to see you there!
Today I returned from the supermarket and hit the button to close the garage and went in the house. A few seconds later I heard a loud crashing noise from outside and learnt that the garage door spring had broken, and the noise was the door coming down. Oh no!
After a few minutes of unsuccessfully trying to lift the garage door, then checking YouTube for DIY repair options, I decided this was a big job and decided to call in the experts. I decided on a garage door shop that I have passed by for years which was highly recommended online, and are a family owned local business, so decided to give them a call. Within half an hour, the folks from Cedar Park Overhead Doors were at our house, and after another 30 minutes, they were done.
They replaced the single broken spring with two new springs so that if one of the ever breaks, I will still be able to lift the door with the help of the other spring. The repairmen also lubed up the garage door hinges, made some adjustments, and were off. Friendly, quick service and a fair price from Cedar Park Overhead Doors. Highly recommended!
Bay made this amazing-looking (and delicious) charcuterie as part of our dinner. There was so much yummy stuff on it, this could have been the whole meal! 😊
I went with Mariko to the restaurant supply store so I could help lift the 50 lb. bags of flour she uses, but when we stopped at Trader Joe’s, I stayed in the car to lessen the chance of catching the virus. As I sat in the car, I noticed that several other couples were doing the same. The new, more contagious strain of the virus is really worrying.
I’ve been adding my GoPro videos to my YouTube channel, but instead of just uploading them directly, I thought I would add a bit of annotation to them. I don’t feel comfortable doing voice-overs or narrating in real-time, but I have been really enjoying adding text. It’s fun!
For editing, I’m using Adobe Premiere Pro which I am somewhat familiar with. I’ve heard that some people use iMovie on their iPads to edit video as well, which sounds intriguing and is something I might try in the future.
Anyway, if you have time, you can check out my YouTube channel or watch one of my bicycle videos below:

My camera & photos
I use a Fujifilm X-series camera for most of the photos on this site and my Instagram. Why not pick one up for yourself?
