Good Weather to Ride Bicycles

It’s the beginning of May, and here in Central Texas, we’re having perfect riding weather. Today was sunny, with nice clouds, and a soft breeze. So of course I had to go ride my bicycle at lunchtime.

Sophie and I rode to the hike & bike trail and did our normal paved loop (with a tiny bit of gravel). We stopped at the skatepark to take a photo under the “No Bicycles” sign. When I would come here with my boys, there were often BMX bikers using the park alongside skateboarders, scooters, and the occasional inline skater. Everything seemed fine. But I guess something must have happened to prompt the sign being put up. Oh well.

Anyway, if you have time, please watch the video I made, or save it to your bookmarks and ride along with us on your stationary bike!

Long Ride with Rossa

Today I went on a long (for me) ride with Rossa, my Bianchi Alante bike. It was really windy, but still a lot of fun. Actually, the wind was good because I saw some people flying kites at the park which is always neat to see. Kites are so cool.

If you’d like to ride along with us, I made a video (as I do with most of my bicycle rides). Please take a look if you have time!

Bluebonnets on the Hike & Bike

A lunchtime ride to the nearby hike & bike trail was made special by a bluebonnet explosion! This year is actually not the best because of rain conditions, but there were some really nice patches of color. And they matched Sophie’s paint nicely too. 😆

If you have a few minutes, why not come for a ride with us:

Sunset Ride with Rossa

It’s been a while since I have biked to my regular sunset spot. This evening, I went for a ride with Rossa around the neighborhood and by chance, the sun was setting just as I was passing the sunset spot.

I wasn’t planning on taking photos, so I left my Fujifilm X-E4 at home and only had my iPhone 12 Mini with me. I think the photo turned out pretty good! I took many photos using both the iPhone’s camera software and the RAW camera app, but the iPhone’s built-in processing handled the sunset scene better than my Lightroom skills did with the RAW file. I’m happy with it!

Anyways, it was fun to get out on the Bianchi bicycle again and just cruise around the neighborhood and seeing the sights and saying hello to neighbors.

This morning a nice sunrise was casting a soft light over Sophie, and then in the evening, the sun gave the sky a colorful glow as it moved towards Asia.
