こんばんは!How are you tonight/today?

It’s getting late here but I am happy that the weekend has arrived! As the title of this post indicated, I had a relaxing evening. One of Bay’s friends is visiting and they played video games while I catched up watching a week’s worth of Asa ga Kita. It’s a good story so far!

For dinner we had a pizza from Costco, which is one of my favorites! During my have bachelor summers (when Mariko and the kids go to Japan for a month or so) I always eat a lot of Costco pizza. 💗 🍕 It’s tasty, cheap, and easy to prepare.

After dinner I watched “I Hate Tokyo” (上京ものがたり) which was just ok. There wasn’t anything special about the movie but there was a nice message of following your dreams and persevering. I can’t really recommend it though because there are many more movies which are more worth your while. But still, it was relaxing to watch and sip on a glass or three of nice red wine! 🍷

Today’s photo was one I took while driving in to work. The sun was just rising and there were some pretty clouds in the sky. I don’t really compose these photos since I am driving, but I point the camera in the general direction, and snap away and hope I get a nice shot. I am pretty happy with this one! I also took another photo which I posted on Instagram that I like. Please take a look!

Well, I have to wake up early to make breakfast for the kiddos, so I will call it a night.

おやすみなさい!Let’s have a great weekend!

Dark skies

こんばんは!

How are you doing? It’s nice that we made it to the weekend, isn’t it? Do you have big plans? For us, there is not too much planned. Tomorrow Bay and I will see Star Wars VII again! I am excited to see it the second time where I can focus on the small details in the scenes and not worry about the plot. Will it be a better experience, or just different? We’ll find out!

This morning was not the best one for me. When I rolled down the passenger side window of my car, the glass dropped into the door! It seems that the mechanism that raises and lowers the window broke. So I had to drive to the service department with the window open which made for a cold and loud commute! Outside, the temperature was 46°F so I was bundled up in and extra jacket and a scarf, plus I had the heater going full blast!

But, it got fixed and I also had four recalls done for my car. I drive a 2004 Honda Odyssey minivan which has over 140,000 miles on the odometer, so it is getting pretty old and worn out. But I love that vehicle so much! It is really convenient and comfortable. I hope I can keep it for a while longer, but it seems like things are starting to break in it so I am predicting I will have to get a different car this year. I will probably get something a bit smaller with better gas mileage, but who knows?

Today’s photo is of the sky this morning. I took it right before the window broke. I post-processed it to give it an ominous look. The clouds look like brushstrokes, don’t they?

Tonight should be chilly, but we will see temperatures drop below freezing this weekend! Bundle up and stay warm, everyone!

Flying

Here are a few photos from our flight over from Texas to California.

Our flight was supposed to arrive at 8:15am, but there was a thick layer of fog over the Long Beach Airport, so our landing was aborted and we had to circle above Los Angeles for 45 minutes before landing. I made the most of the extra time to take a couple extra photos of the thick clouds and the Pacific Ocean.

I love to fly JetBlue to California since it goes into the wonderful Long Beach Airport. While on the plane I spotted these clouds and snapped a photo. Soon after, the cloud-cover became pretty thick before we landed in overcast Long Beach.
