Despite the 105° F heat, Piplup and I went for a bike ride today. I took precautions to stay safe in the heat, such as covering up with sun protection and drinking plenty of water with electrolytes. We rode at a slow pace from our house to the end of the newly-renovated trail. The renovations have made the bike path much more enjoyable to ride, as it is now uninterrupted by any intersections with the street. I rode about 27 kilometers and only had to cross one major street. 😀

It was a great ride, and I’m glad we took the time to do it. Even though it was hot, we were able to stay safe and hydrated. I’m looking forward to going back on the trail soon.

I thought the sun had already gone down, but when I realized it didn’t, I quickly rode to my standard sunset spot and took a photo before continuing on my ride around the neighborhood. I wish there were a few clouds, though!

Evening Bicycle Ride

Everyday I have to make a decision – do I go running or bicycling? This evening I chose the bike and enjoyed it quite a bit. One thing with exercising in the evening is that there are a lot of other people out walking and jogging so it’s fun to say hello as I ride past. On my mid-day runs, I hardly see anyone because people it’s so hot out, and many people are probably at work. Those runs are also nice though because I enjoy the solitude.

But the sunset rides are great opportunities for photos. I even captured a little cloud tonight. 😀
