  1. What item in your house recently ceased (or is likely soon to cease) Operation?
The light switch that controls our garbage disposal stopped working correctly and we had to have it replaced. I could have probably done the job myself, but dealing with electricity scares me so I called an electrician.

  2. If someone were to poker ’round in your refrigerator, what item might he or she have questions about?
“Why do you have 15 types of salsa/hot sauces?” Hey, we love all sorts of spicy things, like rayu, salsa, hot sauces, wasabi, and hot mustard.

  3. What’s in your backPac, Man?
A lot of camping equipment such as cookset, first-aid kit, and headlamp. The sleeping bag and tent I keep in their own bags so they don’t get too compressed and can air out.

  4. When did you last run into an old Flame?
I don’t run into old flames. After my wife and I got together 25 years ago, we moved to a new place, so there’s almost zero chance of running into an old flame.

  5. With what object are you frequently playing Hide-and-Seek?
The center post to an old tripod has been hiding for years now. I remember removing it when I was helping Bay make a stop-motion video, but it’s a mystery where it went. Please come out, come out, wherever you are!

Friday Five – 2020.02.07

  1. Can you do simple sewing repairs, such as replacing a button or rejoining a straight seam? No, but simple sewing is on my list as something I’d like to learn this year.
  2. Can you change a flat tire? Yep. The last one we changed was for the Prius at Big Bend National Park
  3. Can you plan and cook a simple meal? Yes. I’m okay at the main dish, but side dishes stump me.
  4. Can you rewire a lamp? No, electrical things make me nervous.
  5. Are you a spender or a saver? Are you able to switch from one to the other on occasion? I am more of a saver, but occasionally I have spending phases.

This prompt originated at friday 5.

Today’s photo is the movie “poster” at the theater. The movie was very good! I’m happy it wasn’t overly gory.

Friday Five – 2019.08.09

  1. What beverage do you enjoy but seldom have? Root beer float – I don’t have much of a sweet tooth but root beer floats are yummy! I love when the ice cream gets that crispy crust.
  2. What’s better now than when you were a kid? Cameras – I definitely prefer digital over analog. The convenience and speed are nice!
  3. Who makes you happy? Bill Murray
  4. Where do you go when you want to indulge? Amazon.com
  5. Where’s a comfy place to sit? At the kotatsu (winter)

This prompt originated at friday 5. You are supposed to randomly use one letter for each question, but that was a little too difficult (I got “W”).

Friday Five – 2019.04.19

  1. Did you enjoy your senior year of high school?
It’s hard to remember exact moments, but yes, I enjoyed it with my friends.
  2. Did you have a senior trip (high school) and were you able to go on it.
I don’t think I went on the senior trip.
  3. Was graduating (from either high school or college/university) a big thing with your family or just another day?
It was a big event with my family, but nothing over-the-top. I can’t really remember what we did, but if I had to guess, it involved nice dinner out.
  4. What were you looking forward to the most after graduating from either high school or college/university?
I didn’t have any long-term goals for my future. I just lived in the short-term.
  5. Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give your graduating self?
    Just keep going.

Friday Five – 2019.03.22

  1. What is your least favorite part of Spring?
    I honestly can’t think of anything. I guess I’m a true optimist.
  2. What is your most favorite part of Spring?
A few things to choose from, but I guess the longer days, and with the time change here in the States, it’s still light out at 7pm!
  3. What is the latest good book you’ve read?
The Lost Temple of Ssis’sythyss (The Dungeoneers Book 3) by Jeffery Russell. Lots of fun fantasy adventuring!
  4. What are your plans for this weekend?
Some yardwork and generic relaxing. It’s been a few years since we got a backyard deck and it needs re-staining so I have the kids tasked to clean it first.
  5. How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck would chuck wood?
    What’s a woodchuck?

By the way, this Friday Five was inspired by Kat of the blog “Escapades of the Elusive Kat”, whom I’ve been following for years.
