こんにちは! How’s it going?

Today we went to Gyu-Kaku for some yakiniku. It was yummy! Since it was during happy hour, we ordered many different types of meat. And also a pitcher of beer which we couldn’t finish. $16 for a pitcher of Kirin!

Today’s photos were taken using the Toy Camera mode on the Olympus E-PL9. I set it to square format to get that old Polaroid look and enjoy it very much! You’ll probably be seeing lots more photos like this in the future.

My Fujifilm X-E4 also has a similar filter, but I think the Olympus does a better job at it.

I hope you had a good day! またね〜

It seems that we are eating more nabe dishes lately, and I am all for it! Japanese hotpot is so delicious. The most well-known in the West are sukiyaki and shabu-shabu, but tonight we had veggies, hamachi, and crab. So good!

Setsubun Food

It seems like we just celebrated Setsubun, yet here it is again. Yay! As usual, we enjoyed some massive ehoumaki sushi rolls, while facing this year’s lucky direction, South/Southeast. And of course you cannot speak until you’ve finished the whole roll!

This year, we also had soba, which is eaten traditionally at New Years. Since this marked the new year in ancient times, Mariko decided to make soba as well as the ehoumaki. It was so delicious! And now we’ll have double-luck this year.
