Every birthday, Mariko asks me what I want for dinner, and my mind instantly goes to oyakodon — it’s my absolute favorite! This year, I almost chose okonomiyaki, but in the end, the mighty oyakodon won out.

Japanese curry is definitely in my top 10!
We attended a curry pop-up at our friend’s restaurant, where the plate featured several types of curry, including a refreshing watermelon curry. It was really good! We left with full bellies and smiles on our faces. What a great dinner!
Today, we attended a party at a friend’s house. Many of our friends work in the food industry, so the dishes they brought were incredibly delicious! My favorites were the tamagoyaki — both flavors were amazing! I ate way too many of them.
Is it my birthday or something? Oyakodon is often my go-to birthday dinner. But no, it’s not my birthday. Still, the oyakodon was just as delicious. Definitely one of my favorite meals!
