Regular readers of the blog will have noticed that I am posting a lot about my new bicycle. I absolutely love it, though! I think Bromptons are just odd, funky bikes. I’ve got some plans forming to go on a bike tour with it in 2023. Hopefully I can squeeze it into what should be a busy year of traveling.

Today I went for a long bicycle ride with Piplup. I recorded the whole adventure, so if you’d like to ride along, please watch the video below!

The photo above is of my editing screen, and the Pinky:St figurine that encourages me to keep going. 😀 The video was almost 2 hours long, so the whole rendering and uploading process took a long time. But it’s fun to create!

Fall Colors in the Neighborhood

Here in central Texas, many of the trees’ leaves are turning a nice golden color. I don’t think I’ve really noticed it before this year… I wonder why… but anyways, I think they look amazing. The view from our backyard is so nice this week!

Today the weather was sunny and 81° F! So on my lunchbreak, Piplup and I went for a ride to the nearby hike and bike trail to see some of the Autumn colors. Please check out the video below if you’d like to come along for the ride!

Sunny Ride with the Brompton

After several grey and rainy days, the sun came out and it was so welcomed (by me, at least) that I went for a run and a bicycle ride! My afternoon cruise around the neighborhood was a lot of fun.

The Brompton is a great bike to ride slow and take in all the views. It’s the opposite of Sophie, my Peugeot road bike, which is not easy to stop, go, and get off frequently. She’s made for going fast from point A to B.

My Brompton, Piplup, on the other hand is super-easy to get off of and stand, to take photos or just enjoy the scenery. It’s quite versatile!

Anyways, on today’s neighborhood ride I saw a large bird (Great Blue Heron?) at the pond, and saw lots of trees’ leaves turning colors. It was nice to get some fresh air, clear my mind, and also get some sun. 🌤️

Late-Afternoon Ride

I went with Piplup for a ride this afternoon before it got too dark (the sun sets so early these days!). We rode on a bunch of light gravel and Piplup’s tiny 16″ wheels and tires did fine.

In other good news, the Brooks B17 saddle is starting to get more comfortable. It can take a while for the leather to shape itself to your sit-bones, and it seems like it’s finally starting to happen. 😀
