An hour of fishing at the local pond is a perfect way to unwind and relax. And bicycling there is a nice bonus! Too bad I only got one bite and no fish… I think the fish are less active now that it’s getting colder. Oh well, still fun!

Ride to the Library
Today I rode my Brompton to the library to return “Making a Scene” by Constance Wu. I thought the book was pretty good, but some of the chapters I quickly skimmed over. I wasn’t too interested in the sexy scenes, but I thought the chapters about her family were more interesting, especially about her father. And I like her attitude about cars. Recommended!
Anyways, the ride was really nice, especially because the sky and clouds were so interesting. If you have a moment, please watch the ride video:
Bicycling for Fish
I went on a bike ride this afternoon with the intention of doing a bit of fishing, but I came up empty-handed. It’s ironic that the larger lake near my house is so unpredictable, while the small neighborhood pond is teeming with bluegill. But I do enjoy trying my luck at different lakes, and the bike ride itself was a lot of fun, so I’m not too disappointed.
Quick Fishing
This evening, Piplup and I rode down to the neighborhood pond for a quick fishing session before sunset. The bluegill were biting like crazy! The pond is very small, so the fish aren’t big, but I did manage to catch this one, which is probably the biggest I’ve caught so far. I’ve heard from others that there are bass in the pond, but I haven’t had any luck catching them yet. But I’m happy catching bluegill on 4 lb test. I think even 2 lb test would be fine. It’s so much fun!
Cycling and New Camera
I got a new Insta360 X3 camera the other day, and I took Piplup for a ride to test it out. It’s amazing! I can capture angles that I’ve never been able to before, and the test-run was a lot of fun. I’m not sure if the footage is good enough for a YouTube video yet, but there will definitely be more to come.
