こんばんは! Happy Saturday!

Today I finally took my car in for a safety inspection so I can get a current registration sticker. Happily my 12-year-old Honda Odyssey passed inspection and I should be receiving the sticker in a few days. But, I am about 3 months overdue… woops! I’m terrible. 🚐

Later on in the day I went to the library to re-borrow the book I was reading, but while I was sitting there book-in-hand, I realized that the book just wasn’t for me and I’d look for another one. I was about a third of the way through On the Map, but I just wasn’t feeling it anymore. Maybe someday I will want to read it again, but for now I’m looking to dive into a Fantasy epic… so I picked up Furies of Calderon by Jim Butcher. It looked interesting, and after 12 pages, I’m still reading so it can’t be too bad, right? 😛

Today’s first picture is from the library of course, and the second photo is one I took at Hopdoddy Burger Bar, where we enjoyed a nice dinner. 🍔

I decided I wanted to only take black and white photos during June, but I couldn’t wait, so I jumped right in today with a couple monochrome images, using the black and white + yellow filter film simulation on my Fujifilm X100T. I have shadows at +2, and highlights at 0 for these. I think I like the look of them!

こんばんは! Hi, how’s it going?

The weather here in Central Texas has been stormy, humid, and grey. I don’t mind it so much since we need the rain, but what we don’t need is all the mosquitoes! They seem to be everywhere these days. This evening on the way to Bay’s piano lessons, he smushed a mosquito in the car. And when I was doing dishes after dinner, I could see a couple of those pests outside the window just looking to suck my blood. Yuck.

Anyways, I’ve been reading a pretty interesting book about maps called “On the Map” which I borrowed from the library… but I read so slowly that I reached the maximum number of times I could renew it so I had to return the book to the library. 😞 But I have enjoyed this particular book, so I’ll need to give it a couple days, then go borrow it again. And hopefully I can finish it within the 6 week limit.

Okay, time to reach for another book. Have a good evening!

こんばんは! How’s it going?

Today I spent the first half of the day at the baseball fields watching Koa’s team play back-to-back games in the bright morning light. It’s only April, but the Texas sun is already strong. In fact, I got a nice sunburn on my arms! Koa’s team lost both games, but they had fun and scored a decent amount of runs. Tomorrow, Koa is playing in another one… the All-star game! ⚾️ He was one of the players chosen to represent his team, so that means 3 games in two days. And on top of that, Monday night, he has another regular game! so 4 games in 3 days. It’s crazy! Normally there are not so many games in one stretch, but there were a couple earlier games that got rained out, so these are make-up games. I think Koa is going to be one tired player!

Today’s photo is of my latest Instax prints and the cool set of markers I use to take notes on them. I love the Instax prints so much. They have a wonderful charm about them… Even my mediocre photos look nice when printed on instant film! ☺️

I am about two-thirds of the way through Kiki Strike: Inside the Shadow City, and I am enjoying it a lot! It’s interesting and fun… a nice light YA read, and great for a change of pace. I recommend it. In fact, I am going to read more right now before I sleep.

おやすみなさい and take care!

こんばんは! It’s Friday!

I’m not sure when it happened, but Friday nights changed from a time to celebrate and go out for dinner and drinks, to a time to just relax at home. It’s kind of a different celebration I guess… 😊

But I enjoy it nonetheless! Spending the evening reading a good book… it’s very cliché, right? But I look forward to it! 📔

Today’s photo is of our black and white cat, Anko. Kittens play so much, but they tire out easily. It’s part of their charm. 🐱

Time to read! おやすみなさい!
