I’m so excited about a Scotch Bonnet hot sauce I pureed! It’s currently sitting in a mason jar, just waiting for the day I can finally use it. I sampled a tiny bit, and the heat is intense! I’m currently avoiding spicy foods due to a skin condition, but the moment I’m able to, I’m going to spice things up with this sauce.

I’m turning some Scotch Bonnet peppers, gifted by my Mom and cousin, into homemade hot sauce. I’ve already removed the seeds and prepped the peppers, and now they’re resting for a day. Next, I’ll add vinegar and let the mixture sit for another week. I’m excited (and slightly nervous) to see just how intense this sauce will be!

I accidentally used the wrong blade in our chopper and ended up making pepper powder instead of flakes. It felt like I recreated something close to pepper spray – when I opened the mixer, I inhaled a bit of the powder and started coughing uncontrollably. I had to turn on the exhaust fan and open some windows just to breathe. It was intense!

Once the air was clear, I carefully transferred the powder into a shaker bottle. Surprisingly, it turned out great! I just have to remember to shake it gently from now on!
